What it is
HerbOS is the tool I wished existed when I started taking herbal medicine seriously. Most herbalists work without proper safety infrastructure: there's no consolidated interaction database, no peer-reviewed research aggregator, no AI safety layer for the supplement-customer-facing channels brands rely on.
It's a single subscription product spanning three user segments: consumers, verified practitioners (clinical herbalists, naturopathic doctors, integrative MDs), and brands or clinics with a Data Program tier for efficacy cohorts.
Operates under Optimal Alchemy LLC d/b/a HerbOS. Same parent as my product brand — the credibility flows naturally.
Why I built it
Pursuing the clinical herbalist certification through Wild Rose College made the gap obvious. The reference materials practitioners use are scattered across textbooks, paywalled databases, and notebooks. The supplement brands serving the same audience have zero interaction-aware AI safety.
If I'm going to practice herbalism clinically, I want the tooling to exist. HerbOS is that tooling — built by an operating herbalist for the people doing this work day-to-day.
A single product, three user lanes, four pricing tiers per segment. Practitioner access is gated behind verification — it isn't another consumer wellness app pretending to serve clinicians.
Open interaction database
Comprehensive herb-drug interaction reference — defensible content moat, not a wrapper UI on someone else's data.
AI safety layer
Claude-powered chatbot, SOAP drafter, insights, and gap detection. Built for clinical defensibility, not for consumer chat.
Practice management
Telehealth (E2EE), calendar sync (Google + Microsoft + CalDAV), accounting (Xero + QuickBooks), TCPA-compliant SMS.
Brand / clinic Data Program
Premium tier for supplement brands and wellness cooperatives. Efficacy data cohort access for product development.
